King's Lynn Male Voice Choir

The Choir was formed in 1957 by members of the Choirs of  St. Nicholas' Chapel and St. Margaret's Church.

In the years since its formation, the Choir has performed in hundreds of concerts for local organisations churches and charities, as well as holding its own annual concert, concerts with other choirs and with brass bands.  The Choir has held an annual Carols, Cheese and Wine Evening over the past 25 years, which has become very popular.

The Choir is a member of the National Association of Choirs and every year or so a concert involving other member choirs is organised.  In October 2000 the King's Lynn Male Voice Choir organised the concert in the Corn Exchange attended by six choirs from the group.  It was an enormous success and to hear the massed singing from almost 200 singers was a fantastic experience.

Regular exchanges are held with Elten in Germany and Coevorden in Holland.  The latest exchanges were a visit to Elton in May 2001 and Coevorden's visit to us in May 2002, each event being very successful.

Some years ago, a Patrons Scheme was started and is well supported by our followers who appreciate the Choir's involvement in helping charities and organisation to raise funds.  In June 2001, the Choir sang in a concert with the Phoenix Singers in Swaffham, which raised £1200 for the Maxillofacial Unit at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.
